My Ubuntu Gnome setup
I saw some customized Gnome desktops on /r/unixporn, they looked interesting and wanted to try out Gnome. I installed it on my default Ubuntu installation, messed around with extensions and themes; I liked some features that Gnome and third party extensions offered; so I jumped to Ubuntu Gnome from default Unity when 15.10 came out. Because of that, Canonical's decision to discontinue Unity development and switch back to Gnome doesn't really effects me as it would've been. But I still liked the way Unity handled user experience, for instance: tray icons; I hate the way Gnome handled those . Why it is the way it is, I don't know but fortunately users can use extensions to fix some of the serious shortcomings.
